Event LOVE...Something Blue

When our bride-to-be found her perfect garter she noticed the gorgeous appliqué was coming unstitched on one end. She was glad when we offered to mend it...& so were we because we wanted to sneakily stitch the wedding date on the inside {on a piece of 'blue' ribbon no less!} as a little surprise for her.

We have seen the date stitched onto the underskirt of the wedding dress and the backs of ties and even written on the soles of shoes but our bride was pretty happy with her customised garter. She loved it and we have to say so do we!

Weekend LOVE...A week late!

So i'm finally getting round to putting photos from the wedding up {which was over a week ago now!}. My only excuses are that I was moving house {gosh moving is a tiring job!}, secondly and more importantly I had a hard time limiting the amount of photos to put up {I love all of them...gosh help me when the professional photos come back!}.

The weekend was exhausting, yes. But it was good exhausting, we loved every single moment of it! From the high tea and decorating of the church on Friday afternoon to the breakfast and getting ready with the girls on Saturday right through to the last dance and send off of the Bride & Groom on Saturday night!

Every part of the day was filled with love and laughter and I couldn't be prouder of {or happier for} my little brother and new sister-in-law {I'm also currently a little jealous of them...they are spending 3 weeks on the West Coast of America for their honeymoon!}.

Event LOVE...Find your seat

The wedding already seems like it was forever ago, which is a shame because you spend such a lot of time and energy planning it and then before you know it the day just seems to 'happen' around you and it's over! So many parts of the day that I wanted to see come to life I can't even remember noticing on the day...like the seating chart.

You'd be forgiven if you didn't understand the table numbers...there is a story that goes with them that we will share later. We loved the caricatures so much that we added them to the seating chart also {don't you? They are just so darn cute!}. And in the end everyone found their seat so job well done...

Paper LOVE...Wedding Programs

 While I continue to sort through the photos from the wedding {to find the best assortment to share} I thought I would post the programs in the meantime.

Our favourite elements are the little caricatures of the bridal party and the gorgeous prose of thanks to the family & friends on the back of the program {the bride found it and had to have it part of the wedding somewhere}. We thought the 'meet our party' element would be a fun way for guests to find out who was who and also keep them busy as they anxiously awaited the arrival of the Bride...

A quick update...

This weekend was jam packed to say the least!
Not only was it the wedding of the year {my brother and now sister-in-law} but we also had to move house...lets just say that sleep has been but a distant memory! So please excuse the lack of 'Weekend LOVE' today and have a giggle at the photo booth strip of mum and I at the wedding {we will have a big wedding post soon!}...

Event LOVE...WEDDING!!!

It's here {well, very nearly here!}.
A high-tea was enjoyed, the church was decorated and our Bride-to be seems calm {which is more than I can say for our Groom!}, nothing to do now but enjoy...

Paper LOVE...All grown up

Even though this week seems like we are exclusively living and breathing 'The Wedding' we still managed to get some gorgeous invites finished for a lucky birthday gir...woman!

The sister of the guest of honour was kind enough to organise the invites for the special day and we were happy to be able to help out! I hope the party is a wonderful celebration of such a significant milestone.

Event LOVE...A paper rehearsal

Today was the rehearsal for my brother's wedding. So the maids, and the men and all of the family gathered at the church for a run-through of Saturday's events. Today it started to feel very real that in just a few short days my brother will be married. And the girl who has been such a big part of our family for such a long time now will be family; for real. The only thing that isn't real was the paper bouquet we made for our bride-to-be for today's rehearsal...

Can't wait to see the real thing on Saturday!

Event LOVE...All tied up

Last night we had a working bee of sorts.
Last night we crossed job no. 142 of the wedding list.
Last night we tied ribbon around 96 different sized glass jars.
3 more days and a handful of jobs left to do and they are set to tie the knot {my brother and his gorgeous bride-to-be}!

It kinda feels like christmas only better!

Weekend LOVE...The big and the small of it

Over the weekend we proved that child labour is definitely still alive and well. We moved the shop around to fit in some gorgeous new pieces of furniture...and then watched them walk straight back out again! On Sunday for mother's day we had an especially lovely day...we strolled the markets in the morning, headed to Bribie to soak up the sun around lunchtime and then had a lovely afternoon with family to spoil all the gorgeous mum's in our lives. We also worked on some final wedding prep for my brother's wedding next weekend and finished up 2 new invitations that we will share soon!

Gosh we love weekends...they just never seem to be long enough!

Event LOVE...A sweet{heart} engagement!

Today we wanted to share one of our favourite invitations that went out recently (a coincidence that the Bride-to-be just so happens to be one of our favourite people also!). We pretty much had free reign over the design of this invitation (I don't see any bridezilla moments from this easy going Bride!) so we sent a few options to the happy couple and they settled on this one...we were glad because it was our favourite also!

Can't wait to help with the wedding suite as well!

Weekend LOVE...A bonus day!

This weekend was 3 days long and yet today still somehow feels like Sunday!
We crammed a lot into our 3 days; we worked, made some fun Mother's Day cards, had some new chairs delivered to the store & watched them walk out again a few hours later {there are 2 new sets on their way in the next few days so if you are looking for fabulous coloured chairs look no further!}. Where was I? Oh yeah, we also finished off the invites that we gave you a sneak peek of on Thursday {they are in the post now so we will show them off later in the week!}...

Today we enjoyed the public holiday with sun, surf, sand and seafood!

Birthday LOVE...and a wedding in 2 weeks

Today is a special someone's birthday. We may have spoken about her from time to time around these parts! The lucky girl celebrates her birthday today and a wedding in 2 weeks...it's going to be a big month {and we can't wait!}. We wanted to share with you part of the present we {made and} gave her. It is one of my favourite quotes after all!...

Collection LOVE...getting sidetracked

On Sunday after a little bit of a slow start {thanks in no small part to the Hens Festivities the night before!} we had to go shopping for a wedding gift for some very special friends getting married in the UK in a couple of weeks. We headed off to one of our favourite antique centres {more like warehouse!} to find the perfect gift...and may have gotten a little sidetracked along the way. We couldn't help but notice all the gorgeous collections of things dotted throughout {doorknobs, letters, numbers, knitting needles}...

While we didn't find exactly what we were after for the gift we did have a lovely time strolling the gorgeous antique wares...
